"A person must care for
his or her body like an artisan for his or her tools. For the body
is the instrument through which one serves one's Creator."

The DPHDS athletics
program is designed to provide our students with the necessary
skills and knowledge to lead healthy and active lives. Physical
education promotes fitness, teamwork and positive self-image and
represents a vital component of the overall curriculum at DPHDS. Our
comprehensive program of physical fitness, team sports, and
competitive athletics offers students important opportunities to
master new sports, gain confidence in their physical abilities and
maximize their athletic potential. These successes reinforce
students' academic accomplishments and help promote self-confidence
and lifetime fitness.
Our coaching staff
consists of trained professionals knowledgeable in all aspects of
physical fitness and expert in their respective sports. Each coach
strives to instill the skills necessary for success.
The Athletic Department
is supported by a very active Rams Booster Club. This group of
parent volunteers works tirelessly on behalf of DPHDS athletes. For
information on becoming a Rams Booster Club member, see the DPHDS

Middle School Athletics
The DPHDS middle school offers a wide variety of sports opportunities to its students. Currently, we offer 14 middle school sports, all of which are sanctioned by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). We play in the IAL, a league with 13 other private schools from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. Participation in the sports program provides our students with opportunities to develop sportsmanship and leadership skills. In certain cases, our middle school athletes have had the opportunity to play high school varsity sports. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our middle school athletes, who have performed at high levels and learned important lessons that can be applied both on and off the playing field. Our sports offerings include flag football, girls' volleyball, golf, cross country, and swimming for the fall; basketball and soccer in the winter; and baseball, softball, tennis, and boys' volleyball in the spring.
