Jewish
LifePathing™ is a unique program at David Posnack Hebrew Day School
(DPHDS) that identifies and cultivates the creative and intellectual
sparks of light that reside within each student. At DPHDS, we
recognize that each student has a distinctive set of strengths,
interests and passions. Jewish LifePathing™ maps our students’
individuality and paves the way for each child to live a fulfilling
Jewish life.
Using
the proprietary JLP Interest Inventory, a revolutionary
talent assessment developed at DPHDS, to pinpoint each
student’s Judaic interests and background, our faculty develops
lessons that advance our students’ strengths.
The JLP Interest Inventory serves in turn to guide our JLP
Mentoring Program, which offers students the chance to explore
possible career paths while interacting with schoolmates who share
similar interests. Students in grades 8 to 11 serve as “coaches” for
students in grades 3 to 7. Twice monthly, the older students
interact with the younger students in teacher-supervised sessions.
Mutual interests, as determined by the JLP Interest Inventory,
create points of engagement and the opportunity to grow as leaders
and role models.
This process is complemented yearly by the annual JLP Explore!
Fair, where students get the chance to investigate the world
beyond school. By meeting, interacting with, and learning from
leaders in a variety of fields, our students gain a sense of where
their strengths can take them. This exploration helps define student
goals and sharpen their focus.
